Grounded Wellness Care
Grounded Wellness Care, LLC is a Marine Corps veteran owned/operated business offering Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) technique as a health service to the central Pennsylvania region. Fascial Counterstrain technique is a specialty that uses movement and positioning of the body to decompress the body’s tissue. This technique is not an overnight cure for ailments or dysfunction but rather it focuses on removing physical barriers your body holds that prevent it from functioning to its’ best capability. Layer by layer we work as a team to peel back the barriers so you can return to a better quality of life OR so you can keep your body and mind feeling healthy to begin with (helping to mitigate issues that could become a problem if not addressed).
Together, we are “Achieving better health through bodywork”!
Post Session/ Follow Up Care
Grounded Wellness Care is not operated by a doctor, mental health counselor, dietician, or specialist so Kelly cannot prescribe or tell you what to do. DO NOT take the following information shared as an order and do not take it upon yourself to change your lifestyle without consulting with your primary care provider first. Every body is different and responds to things differently. Kelly is allowed to share her own experiences of what works for her post session to make the most of the work performed on her, as she is a regular client herself for maintenance and preventative health purposes.
“Simply put, what I MAINLY do is just stay hydrated, eat lower inflammatory foods a couple of days before and after, and create a good bedtime routine. I just remember that nothing too fancy is required, just be good to myself and I know the technique will do its’ work over the 72 hours after my session.
With inflammation in the body, it’s better out than in- so if my body is working a little harder to drain inflammation then I may feel fatigued or sore VERY temporarily- in which case I just soak in an epsom salt bath and get extra sleep after the kids are off to bed. Additionally, if it’s nice weather outside, I keep some light exercise in my routine (i.e. yoga, walking, whatever my “easy day” workout would consist of) because the movement can help me drain inflammation a little faster than if I were to just come home, sit on the couch and watch movies. It doesn’t matter what you do, the technique still works the inflammation out really well. My lifestyle has a part in determining how good I feel from it but I know my lifestyle does not need to be perfect”.

What is Fascial Counterstrain?
Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a multisystem evaluation and treatment method for the body. FCS targets dysfunction of the fascia to relieve acute and chronic pain while improving quality of life in general. It’s effective in relieving pain without the use of medications. It is an indirect, soft tissue healing modality that decompresses tension in the tissue to reduce inflammation and improve circulation (Tuckey B, 2025).
For a thorough description and case study with videos documenting the technique, please visit the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine online to read Dr. Brian Tuckey’s ‘Fascial Counterstrain: A Methodological Advancement in Indirect Osteopathic Manipulation’.
Patients and practitioner’s alike to visit the official counterstrain website directly; Practitioners click HERE, Patients click HERE.
FCS does NOT replace the necessity for consulting with your physician for healthcare. FCS falls into Kelly’s scope of practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist as she is manipulating the soft tissue to indirectly relax fascia. Please note, she is not directly treating organs or systems of the body.
